Masthouse Grain Whisky

Made to hero the influence of grains in whisky making; wheat, barley and rye. This grain whisky is bursting with handsome flavours; sweet and creaminess from wheat, nuttiness from barley, and a touch of rye’s herbal spiciness The signature long fermentation and careful distillation in the column still means it carries the distillery’s signature ultra smooth, approachable and easy drinking style bursting with natural sweetness.

 

METHOD

A blend of rye, wheat and malted barley, fermented slowly and carefully. Pot and column distilled.

 

TASTE & AROMA

Toasted nuttiness from barley and malt, creaminess from wheat and herbal spice from rye, rounded with decadent oak vanillin. Ultra smooth, approachable, easy drinking and bursting with natural sweetness.

Column Distilled Single Malt

This whisky takes inspiration from the great Japanese and American distilleries and uses our unique column still to create a wonderfully smooth, easy drinking whisky where flavour characteristics blend in harmonious perfection

 

METHOD

100% Belgravia Barley grown at 40 Acre Field. The mash undergoes a long fermentation before being pot distilled, then distilled again in our unique 10 meter tall column still. Finally it is aged in first fill American Oak Bourbon Barrels.

 

TASTE & AROMA

Vanilla mousse with candied zest, toffee apple and light oak shavings on the nose and, on the palate, lingering sweet cream with dried plantain, fresh cut pear and a nutty, peppery finish.

Pot Distilled Single Malt

Masthouse Whisky Single Malt – Pot Distilled is made with specially grown Kentish grain, and is a beguiling spirit inspired by the ancient craft of ship mast-making at Chatham’s Royal Dockyard, where it is distilled.

 

METHOD

100% Belgravia Barley grown at 40 Acre Field. The mash undergoes a long fermentation before being pot distilled and then aged in a combination of first fill American Oak Bourbon and Virgin Oak Barrels.

 

TASTE & AROMA

Green apple and ginger biscuit, tropical fruits and floral mid-notes, toasted oak, chocolate orange on the palate, finished with malt & white pepper
