Tasting Notes

Made from two types of grain.
The corn whisky is double distilled through a two-column still and the barley whisky is pot distilled. Non-chill filtration.
Aged in New White Oak Casks, First-Run Bourbon Casks and Canadian Whisky Casks
Blended with the pristine waters of Newfoundland, Canada.
Bottled in St. John’s within sight of Signal Hill

 

TASTE & AROMA

On the nose, dried fruit, like raisin and dried plums, are complemented by sweet cream sherry. English toffee, vanilla and soft oak appear later. Sweet on the tongue initially, followed by bittersweet cacao and subtle leather and pipe tobacco. Raisins and dried plums fill the middle. Cream sherry, heavily steeped tea tannins and mild oak at the finish.

Signal Hill's concept started in 2014, when two Canadian industry veterans decided to combine their decades of knowledge and experience with global whisky brands to create a unique blend. Micheal Booth, who long retired from Hiram Walker spent 2 years creating over 40 different blends before finalising Signal Hill. The name Signal Hill took inspiration from one of Canada's most famous and historic landmarks - the Signal Hill. The Canadian whisky uses some of Canada's finest ingredients, including the purest water from New Foundland, which is named one of the best water sources in the world.
